About Me
Early Life and Education:
Born and raised in Paramaribo, Suriname, I developed a fascination with global cultures and a passion for helping others. I pursued undergraduate studies in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Suriname College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Paramaribo, Suriname and graduate studies in Tourism
Management at the Beijing International Studies University, Chaoyang, China.
Entry into Immigration Law:
I came to Canada searching for a hospitality job without success, I had no choice to accept a job in the farm. I discovered that most people weren't aware about the rights as a employee and how to maintain their legal status in Canada. I, myself, have been a victim of abuse in the workplace. Through my own experience and research I had educated my co-workers how to maintain their status as well.
The experiences I and my co-workers had, led me to pursue a career in immigration law. I completed a Graduate Diploma in Immigration and Citizenship Law at Queen's University, Kingston, obtaining a solid foundation in Canadian immigration laws and procedures.
